SUNDAY LOVE FEAST

The Founder-Acharya of the Hare Krishna movement, Srila Prabhupada, started the Sunday Love Feast in 1966. He would personally invite guests, prepare a variety of Indian vegetarian dishes, sing the Hare Krishna Maha-mantra, a sacred mantra repeated in meditation, with them, dance, and give a talk on the Bhagavad-gita, an important text in the bhakti tradition.

Since then, the weekly Sunday Love Feast has been celebrated at Hare Krishna temples around the world. It brings together chanting, spiritual teachings, music, dancing, fellowship, and a shared vegetarian meal in celebration of Lord Krishna and the joy of devotional life.

We invite you to join us every Sunday for a culturally rich and vibrant experience of bhakti yoga, the yoga of love and devotion. Festivities begin with kirtan, a form of musical mantra meditation, and continue with chanting, drumming, a spiritual discussion, a traditional ceremony honoring Krishna known as arati, and a free vegetarian feast served to all attendees.

We welcome anyone regardless of one’s belief system, into an experience of selfless loving service.

11:00am – Kirtan

Kirtan is a powerful form of group meditation where we chant mantras set to music. Chant and be happy!

11:30am – Vedic Philosophy

A group discussion on Vedic Philosophy and Literature. Ancient wisdom to enrich this modern age!

1:00pm – Arati ceremony

Arati is an ancient ceremony of Deity worship. Dance and chant, fully absorbed in love of the Supreme!

1:30pm – Lunch Prasadam

A free vegetarian feast is served to the participants. Come enjoy a delicious meal with friends!
