There Lord Jagannatha tells King Indradyumna\, who had the first Jagannatha Deities carved and who built the first great temple for Lord Jagannatha in Puri\, that He appeared on the full-moon day of the month of Jyestha\, being pleased with the king’s devotion and sacrifices. It is on this very date every year that Snana-yatra\, the public bathing of Lord Jagannatha\, is held.
